Can't Work, huh?
A claimant with an injured toe sought settlement for his injury, stating that it prevented him from doing welding work. Our investigation showed the claimant had established a well-equipped welding school, which the claimant operated himself.
His settlement was reduced by 70%.
Working from home
A claimant collecting benefits for workers compensation was found to have opened an auto repair business in his home garage. Investigators provided him with a vehicle for repair.
The claimant gave us the evidence we needed with a smile, and thanked us for doing business with him . His benefits were greatly reduced.
Lies on Film
A claimant receiving benefits for six years was located in Southern Maryland. The Claimant was filmed rebuilding the side of his house. He was then found the following day going to work as a maintenance supervisor, where he had been employed for two years. The claimant was followed by car, bus, metrorail and on foot to his work location.
Our investigation proved that the claimant was not disabled and gainfully employed.
That plan went up in smoke
A man claimed he was unable to do physical labor. And when asked by an attorney, he denied ever doing any farming. What he didn't know was that our investigator spent an entire day with a claimant on his tobacco farm, working side-by-side in the field. Busted!
Thanks to our investigator's testimony and video, benefits were denied. The claimant was threatened with perjury charges.
